HOME OF THE SIDE OF SPORTS
Jennie Finch, Softball Olympian and "Dancing with the Stars: Athletes" contestant shows us the difference between a baseball pitch and a softball pitch.
As Jennie so graciously illustrates, baseball pitches are thrown overhand while softball pitches are thrown underhand.
Jennie helped Team USA score a softball gold medal in 2004 and a silver medal in 2008.
Make sure to check her out, along with some of our other favorite athletes, as they compete for the highly coveted Mirrorball Trophy on ABC!

Speaking of baseball pitches, is anyone else confused on which pitch is what? Did you know that there's more than one kind of fastball?
A two seam fastball and a four seam fastball are differentiated by where the fingers lie - the pitcher's fingers literally lay across two seams vs. four seams respectively while a cutter is held slightly off-center for a side spin that makes the ball move in or out a few inches.

ABOUT JACKIE JAMES
AND THE CREATION OF GLR
Jackie's journey to becoming a sports fan began with her love of people and the social side of sports.
“There’s more than one way to celebrate the games”, Jackie says, “and I learned to appreciate sports through relatable storytelling, movies, music, fashion, and food. It’s the sports culture and the camaraderie that I value most."
Jackie's passion for the social side of sports led to the creation of GIRLY LOCKER ROOM, a clubhouse for fans and friends to gather, share advice, stories, and experiences, and connect with sports and athletes from a social perspective.
